ABOUT KATE

I qualified as a physiotherapist in 1987 and between having 3 children have worked as a physiotherapist ever since. I qualified as a member of the Musculoskeletal Association of Chartered Physiotherapists ( MACP) in 1991, having achieved the standard of excellence required in the management of Musculoskeletal conditions.

In 2003 I started my own clinic and I am also a visiting senior lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire.

Success for me is a patient who is back to full strength and able to lead a normal life.

Whilst I enjoy the time I have with my patients, I love the moment I say good-bye to them knowing they feel in control of their condition and confident they know how to prevent it returning.

YOUR RECOVERY PLAN

YOUR STORY

My first step is to really understand everything about your condition. I've learnt that investing time always results in better long-term outcomes.

PHYSICAL
ASSESSMENT

Next I establish where your pain is coming from. I’ll assess your posture, joint movement, muscle strength and nerve mobility.

EASING THE PAIN

After the assessment my first priorities include helping you to understand your problem better, easing your pain and helping improve your movement patterns.

LONG-TERM RECOVERY

With your pain eased I can focus on making sure your problem doesn't reoccur.

Your treatment plans will put you in control of your condition.

TREATMENTS

I specialise in the assessment and management of musculoskeletal problems. These commonly occur during sport, training and everyday activity.

"I FEEL MY LIFE IS BACK ON TRACK"

I was in really bad pain when I met Kate. I had been in pain for almost 2 years and it was impacting almost all areas of my life. I had given up a lot of activities and even found walking really painful. My GP eventually referred me to Kate and the difference she has made has been amazing. She asked very searching questions and listened carefully. She spent time understanding what was going on which made a huge different to how I saw my condition. She made small alterations to the way I walked. She made me far more self aware, in charge of the it. I can’t believe what a difference it has made. I’m now pain free most of the time.

Testimonials

"I HAVE MY FUTURE BACK"

Thank you so much for doing your magic and sorting our another of my problems! This time I traveled 250 miles to see you as you have been so good at diagnosing the true source of my problems, providing treatment and then providing me with exercises to help me maintain your own good work.

I really value the way you take the time to explain what has gone wrong and the best way to prevent it reoccurring.

I am now looking forward to my planned retirement activity of long walks in Yorkshire, something which I though would be impossible a few months ago.

"FIGHTING FIT AND READY FOR 26 MILES!"

I was born 12 weeks premature and I've always been told that's why I have a weak back. This year I signed up for the London Marathon to raise money for my big sister who we lost to leukaemia. Kate has been helping me strengthen my back muscles. Unfortunately after training to 20 miles I developed severe blisters in my feet and painful plantar fascitis in my foot. Working with Kate I have gained a better understanding of my back and now realise that aspects of my training led to the overload in my foot. I feel slightly daunted by the thought of having to run 26 miles but I know my back is in better shape than it ever has been.
